Dr. Raymond Ruckman

Dr. Raymond Ruckman graduated from Southern Utah University with highest honors in Biology/Zoology in 1998. He obtained his Doctorate of Optometry with great honor from Southern California College of Optometry in 2005. As a lieutenant in the United States Navy from 2005 to 2009 he earned the Navy Achievement Medal for superior professional performance while serving as an optometrist at the Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital in Twentynine Palms California.

After Dr Ruckman came back to Nevada he worked with Dr. Robert Wolf at Sierra Nevada Eye Center as the staff optometrist for a year before purchasing Dr. John Staub Optometry Practice in 2011.

Dr. Ruckman has interests in general medical eyecare, dry eye and glaucoma treatment, along with cataract and refractive surgery co-management. He spent internships at Eye Foundation of Utah, Naval Medical Center San Diego (The Pride of Navy Medicine), and on the Hopi Indian Reservation in Arizona. Dr. Ruckman is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping, rappelling, canyoneering, climbing, and has served his community as a member of the Joshua Tree National Park Search and Rescue and a leader in Boy Scouts of America.
